Welcome! Ready to Rumble?

Welcome to TJC's Bible Study blog!  We are so glad you came by to check us out!  Whether you are visiting to actively participate or to simply read along, it is no accident that you find yourself here!  God has something special prepared just for YOU!  Let's get ready to rumble, shall we?

I am excited to take this study a bit deeper through this blog.  I'd like to provoke you to mull over life's experiences and, no matter how abysmal they may seem, consider how you might still have JOY underneath it all.  You have been prayed for!  I have journaled prayers for weeks for each and every one of you, and my desire is to see this study and blog spawn a new~found passion for life through God's joy.  At the end of each post, you will find some "Power Jabs."  That's right!  More weapons straight out of God's Word to spur you onward to a life of victory in Jesus' name using joy!  What a glorious and powerful weapon! I praise God for joy!  May you all walk away from this study with supreme confidence and utter JOY, knowing how enormously God loves you and wants you to succeed.

See you in the ring, and remember... THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH!  (Nehemiah 8:10  "...Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.")

Ding, ding, round 1.  Here we go!  I love you dearly and am cheering for you!!  You've got this!

  2. From rabbiyeshua.com. We can experience joy in the dance because Scripture reveals a reason for us to dance and to dance for joy. For the Lord says in Zephaniah 3:17 that He, “The Lord your God is mighty in the midst of you; He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest in His love; He will joy over you with singing.”

The phrase “He will joy” is actually the translation of the Hebrew word “yagil.” The word “gil,” or joy, is literally translated “to spin around in joy.” And, one of the words used for the word “dance” is “raquad” and it literally means “to skip or to leap.” Understanding this, it can then be said, that God dances with joy over us. If God dances with joy over His Messianic body of believers, how much more so should we dance before Him in praise of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? So, dance. Dance for joy!

  4. I'm sitting here with my sweet grandson in my lap this morning! Reminded me of a prayer said last night at our study: Abba Father, help us to learn to come and sit in your lap. What a joyous thought!

  5. Rainy days are usually not my favorite day. I enjoy the sunshine, just brings an energy to me. However, this morning I find joy and peace in this rain! Stumbled across Proverbs 17:22, A joyful heart is good medicine but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Don't know about you, but I don't want my bones to dry up!! I find alittle humor in that for some reason, and I laughed out loud. It did my heart good.

  6. I had a funny thought after hearing a quote about a box of darkness in the class.

My thought…A box of darkness wouldn't be so bad if it were a box of dark chocolates! HA!

  7. I Love this thought!! Sometimes we do get handed a box of darkness for a season - and now I will always be able to think of a dark season as a new box of dark Chocolates that God has given me!! And I love dark chocolate!!

  8. Okay Ladies! It's rainy, and its Monday. How else can you start off your week any worse? Well, that's how i was thinking this morning as I went to school. And then it hit me, "Joy, Hannah!!" I remember Pastor Alan saying yesterday in the sermon that true joy is only found in Jesus. That struck me. It hit me and hit me hard and made me realize that recently i have been searching for joy in worldly or concrete things, such as friends, family, music and other teenage things. You know, being a teenager, it is so hard to get caught up in the motions of the world or to go along. But honestly, I'm tired of just drifting through this "sea of sin". I'm ready to stop swimming and have my lifeguard, the one who walks on water, come save me. To embrace me. To empower me. To feel joy.
I know it's hard on a monday and with the rain, but just remember that God gave you breath another day and that the rain is replenishing the earth. God has a plan and is such a smart God. He knows what He is doing, we just have to trust in HIS plan and HIS will.
